Do you have packs for groups?

The best experiences are shared. Planning a bridal party? Looking for a team bonding exercise? Our all inclusive packs are great for any occasion. If you're buying for more than 4 people, we can create a private channel on our online platform to make it easy for you to share bits and pieces. We also offer a 10% discount. Just type in the code LEARNWITHMATES at the check out and we'll have you sorted.

Can I get a refund or exchange my pack?

You can get a full refund if we haven’t packed and dispatched it yet (you’ll get an email once this is done, usually 1-2 days after purchase). If your pack has been dispatched, we can't refund or exchange it.

How does the online support work?

Once you’ve purchased your pack, we’ll send you an email invitation to join our online platform using Slack, or you can join our Facebook group. You can directly ask us questions by posting comments or request a video call. We'll do our best to make sure you feel supported.

Will the ring be true to size after it’s casted?

Yes, your ring won’t shrink or expand once it gets casted from the wax ring you send to us.

Can I use the tools after making my ring?

That’s exactly what we want you to do. Your tools can be used to make more rings and other types of jewellery that can be wax casted. You’ll need to source more wax and any additional tools if you’d like to create more complicated designs but we’re more than happy to give you some advice on how to keep progressing.

What if I mess up my ring?

You won’t pick up new skills unless there’s some mistakes along the way. With your pack comes three months access to an online platform where you can ask questions and get help on how to work around any mistakes you make.

How much wood will I get?

You'll get enough to make a medium sized spoon. The specific dimensions are 210mm x 60mm x 40mm.

What type of wood is included in the pack?

We tested many types of wood for our pack but found that the best suited wood for beginners is Jelutong. Jelutong is an imported softwood which is food safe. We source all our wood from local suppliers in Sydney. We also have native Banksia available (sustainably sourced) however it is much more difficult to carve. We’re happy to supply it if you are interested, just shoot us an email.

Can I use the tools after making my spoon?

That’s exactly what we want you to do. Your tools can be used to make more spoons and other types of carved objects. You’ll need to source more wood and any additional tools if you’d like to create more complicated designs but we’re more than happy to give you some advice on how to keep progressing.

Will a beginner actually be able to use those tools to make a spoon?

Absolutely. We trialled several different types of wood and tested these tools on the weakest link. It will always be more challenging at first if you aren't use to being hands on but we'll help you through it.

When will my pack arrive?

If you are in Australia, it will reach you within 7-10 business days.
